At Broadway Kids Camp, we offer kids of all ages and backgrounds a structured opportunity for growth. Our enriched program is designed for campers to promote independence and self-confidence all while making new friends and learning exciting new skills. BKC 2020: BKC HOME EDITION!
BKC goes 100% virtual! Offered to children aged 7-12
REGISTRATION FOR CAMP IS NOW OPEN
In this year's completely online program, campers can attend up to three Performing Arts workshops each day. For one flat registration fee of $400, campers can attend as many or as few of the 30 sessions as they'd like. We have also built in time for Warm-ups, Lunch Bunch, and Closing Circle. We are excited for campers to connect with old friends and meet new ones! Campers can perform an optional monologue and song as part of a special ZOOM performance at 1:00 on the last day of camp!

Counselor in Training Program
Broadway Bound! is a program for students interested in serving as CITs at BKC. In addition, they have the opportunity to work on their own Broadway review performance. In this year's completely online program, Broadway Bounders will interact with BKC campers as they complete daily workshops and prepare for the ZOOM performance. The ZOOM showcase will include monologues, solo song performances, and short scenes. Reference the BKC section above for a sampling of our workshop offerings and daily schedule.

KALI BAKLOR
Assistant Director and Choreographer
A talented singer, actor, dancer, and Columbia College Chicago musical theater grad, Kali Baklor directs our campers and helps them feel comfortable on stage. Kali is always ready to bring the fun and energy level up during rehearsals.
ASHLEY BACKE
Lead Counselor and Broadway Bound! Director
Ashley graduated from Drew University with a major in theater in 2019. She has been involved in the performing arts since elementary school. Favorite roles include Princess Winifred in Once Upon a Mattress, Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, and Heather Chandler in Heathers.
OLIVIA HERLEIN
Music Teacher and Camp Counselor
As a former camper, Olivia knows how much fun it is to put on a BKC show! She has been thrilled to be the music teacher for BKC for the past 3 summers, and she can't wait for BKC: Home Edition and Broadway Bound: Screen Play! She is currently a BFA music theater major at Illinois Wesleyan University.
BRIELLE HERLEIN
Senior Counselor
Brielle Herlein has loved her time working at BKC for the past 5 years. A rising senior at Holton-Arms, Brielle enjoys performing in plays and musicals at her school, as well as helping music direct BKC in past years. Her most recent roles include Katherine Plumber in Newsies, Roxie Hart in Chicago, and Cassie Lang in the Marvel One-Acts.

RACHEL HERLEIN
Camp Director
Rachel has directed over 20 children's theater productions during her time at Garrison Forest, Broadway Kids Camp, and Holton-Arms School! Most recently, she and her husband Scott collaborated with Disney in piloting their new Marvel One-Act series as directors of "Miss. Marvel". A musician and performer herself, she loves instilling a love of the performing arts in children of all ages.
RICHARD DIAMOND
Senior Counselor
Richard is a student at Illinois Wesleyan University where he is studying to receive a BFA in acting. A passionate musician and performer, Richard loved spending time teaching the campers last year. He loves the BKC community and can't wait for camp this summer!
MEET THE CAMP FOUNDERS
Between them, Rachel and Scott Herlein have decades of in-front-of-the-curtain and behind-the-scenes theatre expereince. In addition to performing in college and in community theatre with their family, the Herleins spent 11 years at Garrison Forest, where Rachel was a Middle School faculty member, producing memorable Middle School musicals and founding Broadway Kids Camp. From acting and singing to creating costumes and sets, the Herleins' passion for the performing arts and their love for working with children create a wonderful learning environment and truly terrific musical productions.
